Interhome lowers prices for Swiss accommodation
27.2.2015. Switzerland-based Interhome – Europe’s leading holiday homes provider – is lowering its prices for Swiss accommodation throughout the country. The move follows the recent decision by the Swiss National Bank to discontinue the Swiss Franc/Euro minimum exchange rate.
The SNB (Swiss National Bank) decision in January effectively increased holiday prices on Swiss accommodation overnight by some 17% for tourists from the Euro zone. For the Swiss tourism sector, this led to many winter cancellations and also a decline in last-minute bookings. Fortunately, these developments had little or no immediate negative impact for Interhome.
However there is cause for concern for the coming summer season. Swiss domestic bookings at inland holiday destinations have fallen sharply and are currently 40% down on last year’s levels. Bookings from Euro zone guests have decreased 25%.
In close cooperation with its holiday home owners, Interhome is now reducing its prices for Swiss vacation accommodation. The reductions average 20% and are available to vacation guests from all countries as well as from within Switzerland.
Interhome has a huge selection of Swiss accommodation ranging from large chalets in ski resorts to well placed city apartments. In many resorts we have permanent Local Service Offices to give you great support while you are on holiday, and with over 3000 properties in Switzerland, you are sure to find what you are looking for. Why not try Interlaken this spring, or perhaps head for the mountains this summer, Zermatt, St Moritz/Engadin, Verbier are all beautiful destinations in the Summer with amazing scenery, fantastic activities, and best of all… Space!
