Book a luxury villa with Interhome this summer!
“This summer we’re going to Spain. We are going to rent a villa. With a private pool. Right by the sea.” What was originally a spontaneous idea suddenly turned into reality thanks to Interhome. My thoughts wandered…….every morning we would sleep in, have a nice breakfast, splash in the pool, go for a walk on the beach. And in the evening we would go to one of the many local bars, enjoy a drink and some tapas before tasting the delicious, typically Spanish dishes in one of the countless restaurants. And after returning to our villa late at night, the floodlit pool will be tempting us to jump in.
In the summer heat, we will keep cool thanks to the air conditioning in the house. And, with the fully equipped kitchen, I can finally dare to try out the many recipes I had collected over the years but never tried. With the motto: If I had more time, then .. but this summer, yes this summer, I will finally take the time to do this! I will cook for my loved ones, so I have a grateful ‘audience’ for my cooking skills.
My-oh-my, all these options!
Looking through the many villas with pool on Interhome’s website, we were really surprised at the huge selection of holiday homes. Do we want a villa on the Costa Blanca, or Costa Brava, or Costa Daurada? Should it be near the beach? Or outside the city in a quiet location? Maybe in the middle of the town, so we can can experience some of the ‘Action’? Should it have a Jacuzzi or billiard table, or a panoramic sea view?
When it comes to taste, my partner and I have different tastes. He is more into modern buildings, with clean lines, and a minimalist decor – and it must be tasteful. He likes bright tones, preferably whites and beiges. As a contrast, he loves dark wood features. No wonder the Villa Gyuzelya in Benissa on the Costa Brava caught his eye:

Not bad, I thought, but with my rather romantic taste when it comes to holiday houses, my eyes were drawn to the Casa Luxemburg in Moraira. Lovely balcony, cute little turrets and a dreamy outdoor lounge area. The villa is located in an quiet area, just outside the city centre and the view of the countryside and the sea is simply gorgeous. In summer, I practically live outside, so the shady outdoor area by the pool would be right up my street:

After a fun session of browsing the selection together, we had around 10 villas on our favourites list. Our joint favourite turned out to be the Finca Edel. A lovely villa with a modern touch with white leather sofas and bright interior furnishings and décor, all to his liking plus a big, real palm tree in the middle of the house (yes, inside!) which I fell in love with. So while my loved-one is already looking forward to relaxing in the private sauna and jacuzzi, I see myself trying all the recipes in the large and ultra-modern kitchen, if I am not chilling at the pool-site that is!

By the way: For summer next year we plan to go on holiday with several friends. A large holiday house like the Villa Gaudi would be a great retreat with room for 12 people. The property has the look and feel of a mini-resort, with an entrée reminiscent of a luxury hotel lobby and a kitchen where everyone could cook together at the same time. The 450 m2 definitely offers enough space for everyone, whether sitting and chatting together or to find your own space every so often. There is also a jacuzzi outside and jet baths inside. This will be so much fun!

Luxury is expensive? Think again!
Do not be surprised if you find really reasonable prices with Interhome and its many villas. Luxury does not always have a steep price tag! The Villa Gaudi, for example – for 12 people – can be booked from as little as £1352 per week, depending on the season. Let’s divide that by 12 people, that’s just £113 per Person… per week! In other words, each one of us would pay only £16 a night. And what’s more, this price even includes the final cleaning, bed linen and towels for the kitchen and bathroom.
A Concierge for your holiday home
The fact that Interhome has a local service office in many of the popular holiday destinations is really handy. At check-in, you do not just get the keys handed over, but you can get tips on events and restaurants. The local staf also have many inside tips, e.g. the most beautiful beaches, the best sightsseeing, the coolest night clubs, or where to find the best tapas.
Did I start you dreaming about YOUR next holiday? I highly recommend browsing through Interhome’s website. Preferably together with your partner, friends, or your family. It’s even more fun to share the many Aaaaahhhh’s, Ooooohh’s and Woooow’s when checking out the huge selection of holiday houses and apartments.
