From catered Swiss chalets to self-catered freedom

We held a cookery evening at the Mosimann Academy in London to highlight how easy it is to self-cater in Switzerland.  Due to imposition of long-standing employment legislation on minimum wages in Swiss mountain resorts, many UK Travel Companies have pulled their Catered Chalet operations, leaving a huge gap; customers still want to go and stay in a Swiss chalet for their skiing holiday, and of course with Interhome they still can! The only difference is that they will have more choice (over 3000 properties in Switzerland), they will have more fun (cooking with friends and family is wonderful, even after a hard days skiing!), and more freedom (on a self-catered holiday, with your own space and your own rules, you make your own schedule!).

Mountain holidays are all about freedom, changing environment, trying a new lifestyle for the duration of a few days, so immerse yourself completely don’t be a tourist, holiday like a local. At Interhome, we have chalets and apartments in the top Swiss destinations, but we also feature smaller and less-known resorts, off the beaten track, where you will get a more authentic Swiss welcome, where you will meet the locals, and very quickly become a local, all at much more affordable prices. When you rent a Swiss chalet from Interhome you get the security of booking through a company that has been around for over 50 years (#Interhome50Years), that has over 200 local service offices in key destinations, and backed by a tradition of Swiss hospitality which we export to all of our destinations.

This is a beautiful 4-bedroom apartment in a chalet in Nendaz (La Crevasse) part of the 4 Valleys ski area, along with Veysonnaz and Verbier, one of the most exciting ski destinations in Europe. The 4 Valleys ski area is just a couple of hours from Geneva Airport, and is of course served by the Swiss Travel System; a fantastic way of getting from your chosen Swiss airport to your end destination with typical Swiss efficiency and time-keeping, whatever the weather.

Swiss chalets

Interhome holidays are all about putting you in control of the type of holiday you want to enjoy; choose a self-catered Swiss chalet, and make cooking part of your holiday, choose what you want to cook and use local ingredients to challenge yourself and your family and friends to produce the most mouth-watering dishes; turn it into a tradition! We are now 50 years old, and over those 50 years, millions of families have enjoyed their moment of freedom in an Interhome Swiss chalet, creating their own legends and food traditions, isn’t it time you created your own?
